Licensing Policy
SEARCH: Science Education Research Journal is committed to transparent, accessible, and responsible scholarly publishing. Unless otherwise explicitly stated for a particular article or item of material, articles published in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license allows users to share and adapt published works for any purpose, including commercial purposes, provided that the applicable license conditions are fulfilled.
The licensing policy aims to facilitate the dissemination, reuse, and development of scholarly knowledge while ensuring appropriate recognition of the original authors. Authors are responsible for confirming that they hold, or have obtained, the rights necessary to publish their work under the journal's stated license.
The journal applies the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) to its published articles, subject to any specific licensing notice accompanying an article or third-party material. Under this license, users may copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon licensed material in any medium or format, for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided that they comply with the license terms.
The CC BY 4.0 license supports broad scholarly communication and permits the reuse and adaptation of research findings in education, research, and other fields. The license does not eliminate the obligation to acknowledge the original source or override rights and restrictions that may apply independently under relevant law.
Users may copy and redistribute licensed material in any medium or format, including digital repositories, teaching materials, academic presentations, and other forms of lawful scholarly communication. Appropriate attribution and a link to the license must be provided in accordance with CC BY 4.0.
Users may remix, transform, translate, modify, and build upon licensed material for any purpose, including commercial purposes. Users must identify whether changes have been made and must not imply that the original author(s), the journal, or the licensor endorses the adaptation or the way the material is used.
The permissions granted by CC BY 4.0 cannot be withdrawn by the licensor from users who continue to comply with the applicable license terms. This provision supports the continued circulation and reuse of properly licensed scholarly works.
Users must provide appropriate credit to the original author(s), identify the source of the work, include a link to the CC BY 4.0 license, and indicate whether modifications have been made. Attribution may be provided in any reasonable manner appropriate to the context, provided that it does not suggest endorsement by the author(s), the journal, or the licensor.
When available, users are encouraged to include the article title, author names, journal title, publication year, and DOI or other persistent identifier. For adapted material, users should describe the changes made sufficiently clearly to distinguish the original work from the adaptation.
Users may not impose additional legal terms or apply technological protection measures that legally restrict others from exercising the rights granted by the license. Any redistribution or adaptation must remain consistent with the permissions and conditions of CC BY 4.0.
Authors retain copyright in their work, subject to the publication agreement and any applicable rights granted to the journal. By publishing in SEARCH: Science Education Research Journal, authors agree to make their articles available under the journal's stated licensing terms, unless a different arrangement is expressly documented. The license allows others to reuse and adapt the article under CC BY 4.0 while requiring appropriate attribution.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions do not infringe third-party rights and that any required permissions have been obtained before publication. Where third-party content is excluded from the article's license, the relevant credit line or rights statement should clearly identify the applicable conditions of use.
Users are not required to comply with the license in relation to elements of a work that are in the public domain or where the intended use is permitted by an applicable copyright exception or limitation. The license does not restrict rights that users may have independently under applicable law.
Licensed material is provided without warranties to the extent permitted by applicable law. The license may not grant all permissions necessary for a particular intended use. Other rights, including privacy, publicity, moral, or third-party rights, may affect how the material can be used. Users are responsible for determining whether additional permissions are necessary for their intended use.
The statements on this page provide a summary of the journal's licensing policy and are not a substitute for the full legal terms of the license. For complete information about the permissions, conditions, and limitations of CC BY 4.0, please consult the official Creative Commons website:
